I’m Rafael, currently based in São Paulo, but soon relocating to Montréal as a PhD student in Philosophy at the Université de Montréal. My journey began with a fascination for art and technology, which eventually led me to explore the relationships between humanity, technology, and nature during my master’s research at the University of São Paulo.
With over five years of experience teaching and lecturing in these fields, I decided to deepen my understanding by pursuing a second degree in Philosophy. Today, my research focuses on the profound impacts of recent technological revolutions on our relationships, perceptions, and lived experiences—particularly in relation to our bodies, consciousness, and the ways we experience reality.
My work is deeply rooted in the Philosophy of Technology and the Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence, where I explore concepts such as technological coexistence, technological mediation, techno-animism, the technological body, and the post-human condition. I am also intrigued by Chinese technological thinking and how China is navigating its technological landscape, proposing new frameworks and perspectives.
I am a member of the Grupo de Estudos Arte Ásia (GEAA – USP/UNIFESP) and actively engage in discussions and research that bridge philosophical inquiry with contemporary technological issues.
